Can’t find what you were looking for in the Library Catalogue? You can borrow from another library collection using one of our Interlibrary Loan options.
BC InterLibrary Connect
Easily request books from other libraries across the province by using our online catalogue. This is the first option to borrow from another library.
- In the public catalogue set the search library to BC Interlibrary Connect.
- Search for the title you would like.
- Your search results will include items from across the BC ILC zone.
- Place your hold. You can choose your desired pickup library from the Pickup Location list.
- You will be notified when your item is ready for pickup.
- Return the item to the library you pick it up at by the due date.
Tip: If you are looking for a particular format (audiobook, movie, large print), make your search easier by selecting a format. Most libraries will lend audiobooks and movies as well as books.
Illume

Visiting other libraries
When visiting other BC public libraries you can register for an account by presenting your home library card and current ID with proof of your current address; this is the provincial BC OneCard program.
If the library you’re visiting is a Sitka library they can scan your library card to retrieve your existing account. This means when you log into My Account through the public catalogue you’ll see items you borrowed from the library you visited as well as those you borrowed from your home library all in one place.
